Kirk-photo Shawnee Co. SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug charges after he was seen littering from his vehicle. Just before 3a.m. Thursday, a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) deputy with the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Ford Taurus after a mattress fell off the top of the vehicle near SW 29th Street and SW Topeka Boulevard, according to Deputy Abigail Christian. The driver identified as 59-year-old Robert N. Kirk, Jr.
